Cherry blossoms are one of the unmissable pleasures of spring. Many people flock to cherry blossom spots to see the cherry blossoms, which fall in one to two weeks. The places where cherry blossom festivals are held are truly famous cherry blossom spots, so they become crowded during the cherry blossom season.

The first cherry blossom festival I visited this year was the 8th Yeoju Heungcheon Namhangang Cherry Blossom Festival. There are 4 parking lots, but because so many people visited, there was quite a backlog of cars at the entrance. However, there were many people guiding me, so if I waited a little patiently, I could slowly move to an empty spot.

From the entrance of the festival site, beautiful cherry blossom petals fall on both sides of the road. Since vehicle traffic is prohibited during the festival period, you can enjoy the cherry blossoms to your heart’s content while walking along the road. There are photo zones set up here and there, so you can take pictures.

You have to go up a bit of a hill to get to the stage where the performances take place and the food zone. They operate a cart for the disabled, so those who have difficulty walking can use the cart to get there. I could feel that the festival had prepared a lot of details.

We arrived at the event venue at the top of the hill. There was a lively festival atmosphere as we saw food trucks selling hot dogs, ice cream, and more.

On stage, various performances such as cultural arts festival, congratulatory performance, magic show, trot show, and singing competition will be held one after another. If there is a performance you want to see, visiting at that time would be a good way to enjoy the festival.

On one side, there are promotional booths, sales booths, and food booths. After looking around the sales booths for a while, I got hungry and looked for a place to eat.

The spacious food booths sold a variety of foods, including whole pork barbecue, pork belly ribs, squid sundae, grilled quail, stir-fried conger eel, stir-fried octopus, and stir-fried tripe. Prices ranged from 15,000 won to 50,000 won, making them a bit pricey.

Despite the high price, it is packed with customers with no place to sit. For your information, there is one restroom on the way up to the venue and two near the venue.

After filling our bellies and watching the magic show, we slowly walked back down the hill to admire the cherry blossoms. It seems that everyone had the same desire to capture as much of this beautiful scenery with their eyes and cameras.

It is said that you can enjoy a more unique cherry blossom landscape in the evening when the lights come on, so it would be a good idea to visit in the evening.

The 2024 Yeoju Heungcheon Namhangang Cherry Blossom Festival was a great place to enjoy the cherry blossom road that stretches endlessly on both sides of the straight road. Various performances are held at the event venue, and you can also eat delicious food.
