Seoul Forest Map and Parking Rates
Seoul Forest was used as a hunting ground for the king a long time ago, and was the first water source in Seoul in 1908. After that, it was used as a racecourse and a golf course, and then it was opened as a large park in 2005.
The location is ‘273 Ttukseom-ro, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, 685-20 Seongsu-dong 1-ga’. When using the subway, get off at Seoul Forest Station (SM Town) on the Suin Bundang Line and take exits 3, 4, and 5. It is a 15-minute walk from exit 8 of Ttukseom Station on Line 2.
Seoul Forest is very large, with an area of about 480,000 square meters (145,200 pyeong). It consists of four theme parks (Culture and Arts Park, Nature Experience Learning Center, Nature Ecological Forest, and Wetland Ecological Center), and its main facilities include a family yard, an outdoor stage, a deer pen, an insectarium, sports facilities, a playground, and a walking trail.
95 species of trees, including pine trees, Japanese pine trees, and zelkova trees, and 231 species of plants, including cacti, are planted, allowing you to experience a lush forest in the city.
If you look at the map of Seoul Forest, the areas 1-21 and 41-43 in the center are the Cultural Arts Park. Here, there is Seoul Forest Plaza, Gunma Statue, Fountain, Outdoor Stage, Mirror Pond, Sculpture Garden, Sand Playground, Winter Garden, Exciting Garden, Forest Playground, Water Playground, Land of Imagination Giants, Waterside Rest Area, Seoul Forest Management Office/Community Center, Ginkgo Forest, Sports Park, Metasequoia Road, Skate Park, Lunchbox Garden, Family Yard, Children’s Playground, Dongbu Park Leisure Center, Seoul Forest Story (Nursing Room), Visitor Center, etc.
To the left of the Cultural Arts Park, numbers 26-34 are the Experiential Learning Center, which includes the Wishing Waterfall, Small Animal House, Observatory, Honeybee Garden, Insect Garden, Butterfly Garden, Gallery Garden, Experience Yard, and Citizen Participation Garden.
The ecological forests on the upper left are the 22-25, pedestrian bridges, flower deer enclosures, and windy hills. The wetland ecological center on the upper right, 35-40, has an ecological learning center, an environmental playground, a children’s forest experience center, a wetland ecological center, a bird observation area, and a rice paddy wetland.
There are stores, restrooms, and water fountains here and there, and strollers and wheelchairs can be rented.
Prohibited acts in the park include smoking, damaging trees, causing disgust, leaving pet waste, street vendors, camping, cooking, littering, entering motorized vehicles with two or more wheels, unauthorized farming, unauthorized harvesting, and not keeping pets on leashes.
It is said that a fine of up to 500,000 won will be imposed for prohibited acts. The fine for smoking is 100,000 won, and for drinking, you may be forced to leave the park.
Pets are allowed, but please remember that you must properly dispose of your waste and keep them on a leash no longer than 2m.
If you use Seoul Forest Parking Lot, the location is ‘Seongsu-dong 1-ga 643, Seongdong-gu, Seoul’ and the parking area can accommodate 193 vehicles. The parking fee is 150 won per 5 minutes for small and medium-sized vehicles, and 300 won per 5 minutes for large vehicles (25 or more passengers). (80% of the parking fee for disabled persons and national meritorious persons / 50% for light vehicles)
Please note that this is an unmanned parking lot that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and cash payments are not accepted, only card payments. The parking fee is not expensive at 1,800 won per hour, so traveling by car is also a good option.
